Advocating for Family Doctor Access

作家相片: Shun Hang ToShun Hang To

In our diverse community, family doctors are not just healers but also crucial navigators for newcomers in accessing local health resources and services. With the growing challenge of family doctor shortages in Toronto’s Chinatown and across Ontario, especially for those who can only communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin, the situation is dire.

Currently, one in every five emergency room patients is there due to the lack of a family doctor. To combat this, the local MPPs, Jessica Bell and Chris Glover, have initiated a petition calling on the provincial government to address these shortages by increasing healthcare funding and providing essential translation services for linguistic minority groups.

Join us in this important cause and sign the petition at https://www.jessicabellmpp.ca/stand_up_for_healthcare_call_on_the_ford_government_to_tackle_doctor_shortages. Let’s ensure everyone has access to proper medical care.
